LEGAL / COOKIES
Cookie Policy
This website does not use cookies, and this page says exactly what that covers and what it does not.
Last updated: 27 October 2026
1. What this site does with cookies
Nothing. The pages of bassnutmeg.com set no cookies, write nothing to local storage or session storage, and run no analytics, advertising or tracking tags. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
The only script on the pages is the layout library, served from this site itself (it is a file in the site's own folder), together with a few lines that open and close the menu on narrow screens.
2. What is loaded from other parties
Nothing. Fonts are those already on your device, there is no embedded map, no video, no social media button and no content delivery network. Opening a page therefore sends your request to this site's server only.
3. What still happens when you visit
The server that delivers the pages normally writes a technical access log (IP address, time, page requested, browser type). That log belongs to the hosting provider and is described in the Privacy Policy. It is not a cookie and it is not used to follow you from site to site.
4. The terms in plain words
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep, usually so that the site can recognise you on the next visit. Local storage and session storage do a similar job inside the browser without sending anything back by themselves. A tag is a snippet from another company that counts visits or measures advertising. None of the three is present on this site, so there is no preference to save and no choice to offer.
That is also why the pages carry no banner and no pop-up asking for permission. A banner that offers settings for things that do not exist would only mislead you.
5. What the menu script remembers
On a narrow screen the menu button opens and closes the list of links. It does that by changing how the page is displayed at that moment. It does not store which state you left it in, and it does not store anything about you.
6. What your own browser may remember
Your browser may offer to fill in your name and e-mail address in the enquiry form from details you saved earlier. That memory belongs to your browser and device and is controlled in their settings; this site cannot read it. Blocking or clearing cookies in your browser makes no difference to how this site works, since it sets none.
7. Security and logs
For security, the server that delivers the pages may record failed or unusual requests in the same technical access log. The log is used to keep the service running and to look into abuse, and is not matched to a name or an e-mail address. Details on retention are given by the hosting provider on request.
8. Your choices
Because the site stores nothing on your device, there is nothing to switch off, withdraw or delete here. If you would rather not be present in the server's technical log at all, you can contact us by e-mail or phone instead of visiting the site; the Privacy Policy explains what happens to messages that reach us that way. You can ask us at any time what we know about a visit or an enquiry, and we will answer within the limits of the law.
9. If this changes
Should analytics or any other tag be added later, this page and the Privacy Policy would be updated first. Where the law asks for it, including the Japanese rules on sending user information to external parties, consent would be requested before anything is switched on.
10. How you can check
Open the developer tools of your browser, look at the storage and network panels while loading any page of this site, and you should see no cookies and no requests to other domains. If you find otherwise, please tell us at info@bassnutmeg.com.
